Freight Transportation Up by 11.8 Percent
Aug. 5 – As an indication of improving trade in Vietnam, freight transportation from January to July rose by 11.8 percent to 402.5 million tons.
According to a report found on the web site of the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, freight transportation by road increased 12.4 percent to 299.6 million tons and cargo transportation by river rose 5 percent to 67.9 million tons during the same period.
Cargo transport by sea even showed more positive increases of 24 percent year-on-year to 30.5 million tons. Transportation by railway dropped 6.1 percent to 4.4 million tons during the same period.
