Ministry to Help in Pending FDI Disbursement
Jun. 3 – Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment announced that it would help Ho Chi Minh City focus on its top 50 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects that are pending disbursement.
These projects will impact the city’s economic and social situation in the coming time but are facing difficulties in disbursement, Phan Huu Thang, head of the ministry’s Foreign Investment Agency (FIA) told Thanh Nien News.
He added: “It’s a must to rapidly disburse these 50 projects, and that will hence affect the disbursement for other smaller projects.”
Vietnam forecasts registered FDI capital to reach US$20 billion by the end of the year and is expecting about US$9 billion to be disbursed by then.
