Foreign Direct Investment Reaches US$2.4 Billion in August
Aug. 27 – An estimated US$2.4 billion in registered foreign direct investment entered Vietnam for the month of August, according to the Foreign Investment Department.
The FDI capital for August is US$850 million higher compared to investments made in July. In total, foreign direct investment capital for registered projects reached US$7.25 billion for the first eight months of the year.
The majority of the FDI went to manufacturing and processing projects worth US$3.66 billion. Not surprisingly, these were also the industries that reported the highest streams of supplemented capital amounting to US$640 million.
Foreign direct investment also went to electricity generation and real estate with total registered capital reaching US$2.9 billion and US$2.3 billion.
