First ASEAN Labor Inspection Meeting to Be Held in Vietnam
Oct. 13 – The first ASEAN labor inspection meeting will be held in northern Vietnam’s Quang Ninh Province today and tomorrow according to the country’s Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
The meeting will draw roughly 120 delegates from all 10 ASEAN members, key ASEAN partners China, Japan and South Korea, the International Labor Organization, and the International Association of Labor Inspection.
The meetings will serve as a key opportunity for participants to share and discuss their opinions, suggestions, and experiences from the perspective of their relevant inspection agencies. The occasion will also provide regional labor inspectors a chance to increase cooperation on several important labor topics.
Discussions will touch on salary, labor safety, working conditions, working hours and the protection of worker rights in the region.
